Throat De-armouring

In my bodywork sessions we often start to work on the neck and throat. A lot can be stored here. Not only physical tension in the muscles. Also f.e. operational trauma, because every operation feels like a threat and can become a permanent imprint in your nervous system like it’s still going on. This will not happen if your body can release the tension afterwards by trembling or shaking, but unfortunately this reaction is often suppressed by medication. For the body an operation feels like it’s about life and death. Even if we mentally have no memory of the operation because of amnesia, our body has a memory of the operation. These experiences often surface in session als old memory of the body.

Or the moment we learned to eat solid food as a toddler and when we choked. Or being asmatic, experiences where it felt for your body as if there was not enough air (around birth, being pulled under the water, or kept in sleeping bags as kids etc.). But also holding back our emotions, or not being able to speak your thruth. I see this with f.e. lawyers, coaches and trainers who cannot always say what they think.

Also unwanted experiences around the throat related to medical treatmenst, for example the dentist where you know you have to lay down and open your mouth for some time, but your body actually doesn’t want this.

And than also armour related to intimacy or sexuality. For exemple where others were overstepping boundaries orally.

Working on the throat is advanced bodywork and must be done with respect to how delicate this area of the body is. The neck and throat hold many nerves, blood supply to the brain and important glands. And often the throat is the release valve for many blockages stuck elsewhere in the body. They need excess the body via the throat. If there’s stagnation in this area, releases from other lower placed blockages can be reduced.

"The throat holds many emotions and blockages preventing clients from living and expressing themselves fully"

Many sounds and suprresses words are witinng tob e expressed. Throat de-armouring can furthemore consist of inner mouoth work, tongue pulling to stretch the tongue muscle, and gagging y fingers to activate the vagus nerv and create relaxation and energy flow in the body. Throat de-armouring can be external or Internal (with gloves) depending on where the receiver and the body are ready for.
